BUSTED:Prophetess Lands In Jail Over Failed Deliverance

A 38-year-old self-acclaimed prophetess named Nnenna James is cooling off at Kirikiri after she allegedly defrauded one Theresa Johnson of over half a million naira, under the guise of deliverance in Lagos.

According to PM News report, the prophetess whose church is located along the Lagos-Abeokuta Expressway, Lagos State, made 31-year-old Theresa to pay the sum of about N570,000 for spiritual deliverance.

She was said to have also collected Theresa’s gold necklace worth N50,000 from her.

Prophetess Nnenna had told Theresa that before she could get a husband and bear a child, she will undergo deliverance so that she will be purified. She had told her to pay the money which she will use in buying the spiritual materials for the prayers.

She gave Theresa a time frame for the deliverance to manifest but the time passed and she did not get a husband neither did she get a child as promised by the prophetess and she therefore asked for a refund.

When the prophetess refused to pay back, she went to Idimu Police Division and reported the matter, leading to the subsequent arrest of the Prophetess.

She was later charged to court and arraigned at the Ejigbo Magistrates’ Court for fraud and stealing under the Criminal Code.

She however pleaded not guilty to the charge against her.

Presiding over the matter, the magistrate Mrs. M.B. Folami granted her bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum while also remanding her in prison custody at Kirikiri pending when she will perfect her bail condition.

The matter was adjourned till 16 July 2014.

POLITRICKS: IBB warns Jonathan on Sanusi; Police Finally Vacate his Palace

Several powerful Northern leaders are angry that President Gooodluck Jonathan is attempting to undermine the position and office of the respected Emir of Kano currently being occupied by Sanusi Lamiso Sanusi and they are set for a serious showdown if the nonsense is not stopped, Omobar.Com gathered.

Ex-Head of State, General Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida (rtd) has warned that the Presidency has absolutely no role to play in the picking and appointment of the Emir of Kano even as he said that it is the responsibility of the state government to appoint the Emir and Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso has taken the action.

Warning that no harm must happen to Emir Sanusi, IBB said: "God made him the Emir and so I don’t see why people cannot come together and support who is the Emir in the interest of the state and for the interest of this country”.

IBB, who congratulated the new Emir of Kano, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi in an interview in his uphill residence in the capital of Niger State, Minna, said the alleged involvement of the FG in the siege on the Emir’s Palace is not acceptable and said he wants to believe that such never happened.

Responding to a reporters question, he said, “I am glad you used that word alleged, as an elder statesman, I don’t work on allegation. Fortunately, I have ask them both the federal and state government to know exactly what is happening”.

“I think everybody has a particular function. I don’t believe the federal government has a role to play in the appointment of the Emir or something as long as the due process is followed by the state government. We have no option than to accept the outcome of the process. I appeal to the people in the name of this country to give peace a chance. Nothing can be settled if peace did not reign”.

On the protest against Emir Sanusi, IBB said, “for someone like me I think it is a normal tradition. We found this happening in quite a number of places; there was a case like that before back in the 60s. I think what is most important is that we need to realise that whatever you don’t get in the peace time you can’t get it when there is no peace.

“Well, I also want to congratulate the new Emir who happens to be from the same family with the former Emir; they are all children of Malam Ibrahim Dabo so I want to congratulate the present one and to pray that he should live up to the expectation of the majority of the people”.

He stated that his prayer for the new Emir of Kano is for God to grant him the wisdom and knowledge to perform or even supersede his grandfather and his late uncle Alhaji Ado Bayero who performed well.

Meanwhile, Policemen who had laid siege on the palace of Emir Sanusi for days have been withdrawn...

RELATIONSHIP: This is a Must Read for all Men who want a happy home

A female reader sent this..She said her dad told her brother these wise words and every guy out there needs to read this ..I agree especially no 5 and 6 lol

1. My son, if you keep spending on a woman and she never asked you if you’re saving or investing, and she keeps enjoying the attention, don’t marry her.

2. My son, a woman could be a good wife to you, some could be a good mother to your children but if you’ve found a woman like a mother to you, your children and your family, please don’t let her go.

3. My son, don’t confine the position of your wife to the kitchen, where did you get that from? Even in our days, we had farm-lands where they worked every morning . . . that was our office.

4. My son, if I tell you that you’re the head of the house, don’t look at your pocket; look if you will see a

smile on your wife’s face.

5. My son, if you want to have a long life, let your wife be in-charge of your salary, it will be difficult for her to spend it when she’s aware of the home needs and bills to pay but if it’s in your care, she will keep you asking even when all has been spent.

6. My son, don’t ever beat your woman, the pain in her body is nothing to be compared to the wound on her heart and that means you may be in trouble living with a wounded woman.

7. My son, now that you’re married, if you live a bachelor kind of life with your wife, you will soon be single again.

8. My son, in our days, we had many wives and many children because of our large farm-lands and many harvests, there are hardly any land for farming anymore, so embrace your woman closely.

9. My son, under the cocoa tree that I did meet your mother could be your eateries and restaurants of nowadays, but remember, the closet thing we did there was to embrace each other.

10. My son, don’t be carried away when you start making more money, instead of spending on those tiny legs that never knew how hard you worked to get it, spend it on that woman that stood by you all along.

11. My son, when I threw little stones or whistled at the window of your mother father’s house, to call her out, it was not for sex, i was because I missed her so much.

Opinion: Here comes Emperor Jonathan

President-Goodluck-Jonathan-in-Nigeria-army-uniform1

The backlash will be too grievous for their image. The roles of the executive and the media (the fourth estate of the realm) are well defined in the constitution. One cannot demonise the other.

Since Friday, last week, the government has engaged in an aggressive crackdown of newspapers under the dubious claim of routine security operations. They raided delivery vans, harassed vendors, and stopped them from selling copies.

I thought the era of military tactics of muzzling and gagging the press was over for good? Whoever advised this government to engage in a media war, instead of squaring up with Boko Haram, did not do it any good.

The backlash will be too grievous for their image. The roles of the executive and the media (the fourth estate of the realm) are well defined in the constitution. One cannot demonise the other.

This regime is best advised to do the business of governance very well and allow the media to do theirs. Any altercation that arises from that can be settled in a court of competent jurisdiction.

From skepticism to hope?

Last week, at the plenary, delegates at the ongoing national conference unanimously passed a motion that will ensure that the executive and legislature become more serious with state matters. They fixed a timeline within

which the budget must be prepared and deliberated upon for it to be accented to by December 31.

The confab also expunged the constitutional provision that allows the president to fall back on and spend between 50 to 70 per cent from previous year’s budget in the event of delay in the passage of the budget of the current year. Over the years, the executive has abused their office because of the loopholes in the constitution. If this proposal becomes law, the question of signing the year’s budget six months into the year will no longer arise. For example, it was only last month that President Goodluck Jonathan accented to this year’s budget, five good months into the year. As it has become customary, at the end of the day, its implementation will be a hogwash; achieving virtually nothing and much of the money going into private pockets. This is unacceptable and no meaningful development can take place with poor budgeting process and implementation.

Unlike what operates today, the arrangement being proposed will make it impossible for the two arms of government to hold the nation to ransom, unnecessarily politicize and prolong the passage of the budget.Even if in the end the conference does not achieve much, here is one milestone to celebrate.

With the skepticism and controversies that the confab has generated and its wobbled beginning, it is gladdening to know that the confab is gliding slowly but steadily, although questions have often arisen about the worthiness of the gathering. Yes, there were many problems associated with the confab but almost three months of jaw-jaw, arguments and counter arguments, compromises and deeper understanding of who we are as a people and nation are emerging.

Those who came with regional agenda and those who came with the sole aim of dismembering Nigeria now know better. Even those who wanted to appropriate more of the country’s resources to their zones may be satisfied for at least the opportunity to have their say. Not to talk of those who said the confab was Jonathan’s idea to perpetuate himself in power or give more resources to his people. Today, not even Jonathan can foretell what the outcome of the confab will be.

The confab has also settled for a unicameral legislature. This is only commendable in as much as it would reduce the cost of governance. Thus it looks good on paper, but I doubt whether its workability can enhance democratic ethos. Can anyone imagine today’s executive co-existing with only a legislative house? The Senate is pliant and in most cases does the executive’s bidding, while the House of Representatives interrogates executive recklessness until a compromise is arrived at. The unicameral legislature may not augur well for our form of democracy to thrive.

Despite this good showing lately, there are still questions about the confab’s propriety. Professor Auwalu Yadudu said this much in an interview published in this paper last week. He said he was tagged a bad boy at the beginning for saying the confab was diversionary and ill-timed. So, after all the grandstanding and reality check, and now something to cheer, the chicken has come home to roost. What will the confab amount to? What next after these meaningful resolutions? What can the president do with the report between now and May next year as a lame-duck?

Perhaps, the president was eager to make an impact, eager to impress, eager to announce and inaugurate a confab whose recommendations have no certainty of destination. Up until this moment, nobody is sure of what will eventually happen to its report.

In the days ahead, some of the recommendations of one of its committees that might draw the ire of the public is the place of the third tier of government. In their wisdom, the committee had recommended that the local government system be placed under the states because states and not LGs are the federating units. The committee also vested the power to create LGs in states and increased their allocation from 20.60 per cent to 22.5 per cent.

Even with the best of intentions, the committee has a huge task ahead of it. NULGE and NLC are gearing up for a showdown and are said to be lobbying youth groups and civil society organisations to rally round them to oppose the recommendations.

The clamour and agitations for regional government, true federalism, increased allocation to oil producing states, etc., will remain controversial, but the confab may have strengthened the country in unity and resolve to stay together even if their resolutions may never see the light of the day.

LOL, Robbers snatch bag containing N200 and baby faeces

Robbers who specialise in operating on motorcycles in Okokomaiko area of Lagos State, on Sunday June 8th, snatched a bag containing N200 and faeces from a woman.

The breastfeeding mother, Mama Ikechi, told Leadership that she was returning from Ikorodu area with her baby and got to Okokomaiko around 6.15am. She said she was heading to Shibiri area when two men on a motorcycle stopped beside her and snatched her bag.

She said the robbers should be ashamed of themselves when they discover that the bag also contains her baby’s faeces. She expressed satisfaction at what awaits the hoodlums when they open the polythene bag & perceive the odour emanating from it. The woman said,

“when I told people around that robbers had snatched my bag, they blamed me for not raising the alarm, but they busted into laughter when I told them the content of the bag.”

Awww! So Cute: Guy Proposes To His GirlFriend In Church As She "Blushes"

"I met him (Kenny) at a wedding reception. We were both on the dance floor and we danced together for couple of minutes before one of my guy friends came to drag me away from him. I followed my friend and we went outside to talk.

Kenny after few minutes came after me and asked me to talk in front of my guy friend. My friend laughed and said "they are here looking for you again as usual" and he left. So now I was stuck with Kenny to talk to.

He told me he liked me and I should please honor him by giving him my number. I felt reluctant and told him to give me his instead. He refused and pleaded. He pulled out his phone but unfortunately for him his phone was dead. I was happy but then he ran to his friend to get his phone so he can enter my number. I was standing there like "damn it."

Then I gave him my old phone number thinking he wouldn't call it right infront of me. He did and my phone didn't ring. The he realized I was lying and pleaded again. So I gave him and walked away. He called me that night asking how I was and hope I was home safely. It was weird and sweet and I replied him I was ok.

From this point forward, we gradually built a slow-healthy-relationship.

I said slow because I was a "hard-ass" for him but he was PATIENT! About the proposal, he came around for my graduation and I graduated from university May 14th which was a Huge blessing for me, for Him and my family. And on a Sunday 23rd of May, he made me the happiest girl alive. He proposed to me in the church. In front of the whole congregation singing my best song to me "All of me" by John Legend! Now tell me this isn't a double blessing in one month.

I am now engaged to my best friend, lover, brother, partner, father, better-half and my God's favor. He makes me so happy. I am content and happy with what The Lord has done for me. Couldn't have asked for anything better than this wonderful man!!! Thank God for me.

LOL, Sanusi’s turbaning took place right before Pres. Jonathan (LOOK)

Well, the President was not actually present, not that we know of.

With the photo above as evidence, President Goodluck Jonathan who has been reluctant to congratulate the new Kano Emir, Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, may actually claim to been present at the turbaning –

in spirit.

It’s eerily ironic that the actual turbaning took place right under the President’s nose – literally – while Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso’s photo stayed watchful.

MY VIEW: NOBODY IS MISSING, #BRINGBACKOURGIRLS

By Henshaw Uzama

I remember when this hashtag was so popular all over twitter last month. Well, just like every other worldly trend, it has faded away. I just couldn't help writing this article on the previously "famous trend". Before I begin, I want to remind my dear intelligent readers that everyone is entitled to his/her opinions about everything. I shouldn't be critisized for my opinion no matter how silly it may seem.

No girl is missing! That's what I believe. The two hundred and something number that keeps wavering is a facade as far as I'm concerned. I do not hold this opinion because Alhaji Asari Dokubo claims same, but because I see reason with him. To start with, the issue has been made so complicated by the people involved that nobody knows who or what to believe anymore.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not trying to insist that my opinion is correct neither am I trying to impose it on anyone, I'm only trying to express it without mincing words...

I may be wrong, I may also be right. How possible is it that the parents or relatives of people who have been missing for nearly two months will be comfortable and not promote or organize any intense action when they know that the lives of their loved ones are in danger?

No parent can feel comfortable with the gruesome images of their child being tortured by terrorists frizzling in their minds, yet we have not seen any parent start a facebook page in the bid to protest or even storm the newspapers with his/her appeal to the government. So far, the parents of these "missing kids" have not been shown on TV, interviewed on radio nor have they come out to express their pain. Beside that, why is it that the names or the identities of the missing girls have never been revealed to the country.

If they are truly missing and they show us their identities, it would help for recognition of them if any 'escapes'. I know it would be very hard for anyone to believe that the large world virtual protest was done for something that isn't even real, but as far as I can see in this issue, that is the case. When the First lady, Dame Patience Jonathan tried to get into the case and help, the principal of the school kept acting like a dumb fool and dodging as if she had something to hide.

If the principal really had nothing to hide, why did she find it so hard to bring along the people that the first lady summoned in respect to the case. Anyway, that's another day's topic. But what I want to air is that nobody is missing. The whole thing is a setup to humiliate Jonathan's government. It's hard to believe that people can be kept for so long in reality, yet the issue only came as a drifting saga through the minds of the masses, a simple come and go experience.

Even if the Nigerian security forces are as incompetent as we claim they are, they should have been able to rescue the girls by now if they are really missing. Even though Boko Haram showed us video evidence, that evidence can easily be dispersed as false. It's too easy for the uneducated indigenes of some northern areas that are in support of Boko Haram to give or sell their daughters to boko haram to front as proof of people missing by showing them in a video dressed in islamic dresses and reciting the quran.

Is it not the same Boko Haram that brought in another entirely different man claiming he is Shekau when the original Shekau is dead?

In summary, conclusion and simple words, nobody is missing. We've been fussing around for nothing.

Note: The Chief of Defence Staff said they have located the location of the girls. Is he also lying?
