The protesters, most of them members of the Kibaku Development Association, Chibok, converged at Eagle Square in Nigeria’s capital. From there, they marched to the National Assembly to submit a protest letter. The women were led into the premises of the national legislature by a group of senior female police officers.
Senators Barnabas Gemade and Helen Esuene received the protesters, telling them that the Senate was considering a motion in relation to the abducted girls. The two senators assured that the content of the Senate’s resolution would be communicated to the women as soon as possible. The senators appealed to the protesters to calm down and show restraint, pledging that everything would be done to secure the release of the girls in due course.
Some of the protesting women, who were all dressed in black, seemed unimpressed by the senators’ tepid
words. A number of the women betrayed their emotion and wept profusely, a few of them rolling on the ground.

A cagey first leg of the semi-final tie last week finished goalless, but former Atletico captain Fernando Torres put Chelsea in front on Wednesday - and was emotional as his team-mates celebrated - against his boyhood club, only for Adrian Lopez to equalise just before half-time.
Atletico took that momentum into the second half and Diego Costa - a reported Chelsea target - put them in front from the penalty spot with his 36th goal of the season after substitute Samuel Eto'o brought him down in his first involvement in the game.
And Arda Turan sealed Atletico's progress into what will be a first final - to be held on May 24 at Estadio da Luz - in the competition between two sides from the same city and ensure Jose Mourinho misses out on a showdown with his former club.
The Portuguese's wait to become the first manager to win the famous trophy for three different clubs goes on, and he will have to hope his side win the Premier League to avoid a trophyless first season back in London.
Mourinho was able to name fit-again captain John Terry (ankle) and Eden Hazard (calf) in his starting line-up, while former Chelsea midfielder Tiago replaced the suspended Gabi and also skippered the Atletico side.
Koke's cross-shot almost caught Mark Schwarzer out in the early exchanges, though Chelsea replied through David Luiz's audacious overhead kick, which flew narrowly wide.
The breakthrough finally came nine minutes before half-time as Willian displayed fine close control on the right before Cesar Azpilicueta cut the ball back for the onrushing Torres and his right-foot strike found the net via a slight deflection.
Torres refused to celebrate out of respect for his former club, but Atletico were euphoric a minute before half-time when Adrian capitalised on some hesitant defending to equalise with a scuffed right-foot effort from Juanfran’s cross.
The Spanish side had the bit between their teeth early in the second half and Terry was relieved to see Schwarzer thwart Turan with a fine reflex save following some poor defending from the centre-back.
Terry was next to go close at the other end, but Thibaut Courtois' razor-sharp reflexes denied his parent club.
Mourinho replaced Ashley Cole with Eto'o nine minutes before the break - and he must have been ruing that decision soon after when the Cameroon striker upended Costa and referee Nicola Rizzoli awarded a penalty.
Costa was booked for time wasting as he struggled to get the ball to stay on the spot, but held his nerve to fire the ball into the roof of the net as Schwarzer dived the wrong way.
There was no let-up in the action and Luiz got on the end of Willian's inviting free-kick with a powerful header which struck the crossbar - Courtois somehow diverting the rebound over.
But any hopes of a Chelsea fightback were ended by Turan, who calmly tucked the ball into an empty net when the ball came back nicely for him after Schwarzer had tipped his powerful header against the bar 18 minutes from time.
Both Atletico and Real could enter the final as Spanish champions. Simeone's side will be seeking a first top European crown, with their local rivals out to clinch La Decima.
President of the TUC, Bobboi Kaigama during a lecture at the Faculty of Environmental Design and Management, Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife yesterday, recommended the death penalty for any public official who is indicted in any financial crime above N1million.
"If the governments and legislators are truly sincere about the fight against corruption in the country, they must go tougher. Any public official, whether at the state or federal level, should be executed. Killing them after confirmation of any embezzlement allegation of more than N1m will lead us to the right path.
“I sincerely recommend an active process of legislation that would support that. It would also serve the nation well to have a law which not only provides for every public office holder to declare his assets on assuming office, but also stipulate that he must repeat the exercise each subsequent year that he is in office and not later than one month after vacating the office. Such declaration should be in at least three newspapers and not just to the Code of Conduct Bureau.” he said
He advocated for public officer's to be compelled to declare their assets when they assume office as well as get banned from occupying any political office if found guilty of any corruptible act. Who agrees with him?
It’s safe (ironic, right?) to say Nigeria is in a total state of unrest.
It has been 15 days since 200+ schools girls were abducted in Chibok region of Borno, by the Boko Haram sect.
The latest update was shocking and totally disappointing. It is being alleged that they have been married off for N 2,000 each to members of the group in Chad and Cameroon.
With the #BringBackOurGirls, social media has been buzzing about the situation. Celebs are also speaking out on the issue.
How safe are we? As 2015 elections are approaching so are the dangers that come with politics. Too much hypocrisy going on with this abduction. The people who can really put a
stop to this are busy with plans for 2015.How come we don’t have a “secret extraction unit” who are properly trained. What about the jobless graduates roaming the streets looking for work. The money to be used for creating work and agencies to help the citizens of the country, is being used for parties, unnecessary political psA, giving huge sums of money to heads of industries and departments to increase votes, buying mansions all over the world, private jets, ghost contracts and their grand children’s trust funds.
If they are telling me that this is not political, then why did they not abduct boys in school? How come they are against western education but they are using western video equipment to send their message? How come they are using western ammunition to commit these crimes? How come they know how to make bombs? Trust me these people are more intelligent than most of our graduates. They have been properly trained. So what is the real deal?
Bring back our girls please. #bringbackourgirls”
Here’s her account of what happened in South Africa with Muma Gees’s husband, Prince Ekeh.
“I left Nigeria for South Africa to shoot my movie, Nwa Abakaliki in South Africa on Monday April 7 2014 with Prince Ekeh, Muma Gee’s husband. I paid for his flight and accommodation from Port Harcourt to Lagos and from Lagos to South Africa. Then at a point, I decided to move to a hotel so as to give him space
Then on Good Friday, April 18th, I was in my room and didn’t bother locking my room door. Prosper came in and tried to rape me but I told him that I am ready to kill and go to jail if he ever tried it. After much sweet words and threats, he left me alone and I moved out of the house to Hilton Hotel, Sandton that day.
On Sunday, April 19th, Prince Eke called me that Prosper and some people were coming to meet me at the hotel and I said no problem. Unknown to me, he was coming with about three policemen. I opened the door for them but to my greatest surprise, Prosper said that I stole his 32,000rand which is about $3,200. I was surprised because that to me is ridiculous. How can I steal such money when I paid for Prince Ekeh’s flight and accommodation which amounts to about $4,000 dollars, not to talk of myself? I was taken to Honeydew from where I was moved to Ranburg Police station in Johannesburg on Saturday April 19th and was released the following day, being April 20, 2014, Easter Sunday.
I was seriously embittered when I later learnt that Prince Ekeh harboured him in the house I left for him to stay and that he was on the run because I vowed to take the matter in the law court for defamation of character. When the issue became serious, they started begging me, sending different set of people to beg me but I promised to show them the other side of me because I have not been able to complete my movies since then. Prince Ekeh was even threatening to shoot me; that why would I be telling my friends about the incident and also queried the policemen who gave me my passport.
Prince is an ingrate. I paid for his ticket from Port Harcourt to Lagos and from Lagos to South Africa to help him and his family because his wife, Muma Gee has been the only one assisting his career and all he could pay me with is this cheap blackmail. He was not even happy that my passport was released to me. I keep asking myself why? What does he want to achieve? Anyway, I have told him and his accomplice who tried to rape and blackmail me that I am taking this up in a reputable law court”.
Real Madrid roared into the Champions League final as Sergio Ramos scored twice in a 4-0 win over holders Bayern Munich on Wednesday.
The Spain international buried two first-half headers to put Carlo Ancelotti's side 3-0 up on aggregate before Cristiano Ronaldo scored his 15th goal in this season's tournament to wrap up the win and break Lionel Messi's record for strikes in one campaign.
Ronaldo then drilled a free kick under the wall in the dying minutes of the match to cap a perfect night for the Spanish giants, who will now face Chelsea or Atletico Madrid in their first Champions League final since 2002.

This video is a journalist's encounter with three prostitutes in Lagos. His friend and I drove down to their den on Good Friday.
Not even the holy day could stop these ladies of easy virtues from trading their bodies for money.
"Monday's ruling sparked an outcry among families of the defendants outside the court, with women fainting and relatives wailing and crying out 'Why? This is unfair!'
" 'My three sons are inside,' said a woman who only gave her first name, Samiya, as she screamed in grief. 'I have no one but God.'
"Lawyer Ali Kamal said the hearing lasted only eight minutes. Security forces surrounded the court building and blocked roads, preventing families and media from attending the proceedings."

You know you are truly loved when someone risks their life to save yours.
Sophie Rosser, a 23-year-old architect, died while trying to rescue her fiance, 28-year-old Oscar Silva, from a burning block of flats in East London that they lived in, which was on fire.
He did not respond, and so she dashed into the building to try to save him. But unknown to her, Silva had taken the elevator to another floor in an attempt to escape the fire. They missed each other in the midst of the chaos, but paramedics were able to rescue him.
Rosser on the other hand, was unconscious when paramedics found her. She later passed away.
So sad.
His name is Muhammad Abdullahi Salisu, who emerged one of the top 10 leading entrepreneurs out of the 50 shortlisted small and medium enterprises owners in the 2014 edition of the Etisalat Easybusiness Millionaires Hunt, winning a whooping sum of N2m in the process.
In this interview, Salisu explained how studying Bio-Chemistry in the university and passion for providing solutions to the problem of waste management triggered his interest in the recycling business.
Let’s read the interview as culled from the Sunday Trust of April 27, 2014 Vol.8 No.46 below:
What informed your venture into waste recycling?
I studied Bio-Chemistry at the Ahmadu Bello Univeristy (ABU), Zaria, Nigeria and graduated this year. While in the university, we developed interest in the chemistry of waste materials – that is, the main recycling process.
After graduation, three of my friends – Sufiana Habeeb from Bauchi State, Idris Mansha and Ahmad Abdulkadir Koroso both from Kano State and I decided to source for funds and start a recycling business. We realized there are lots of opportunities in the business and decided to venture into it. In Kano State alone, there is waste of about 9000 metric tons already in the recycling process.
How long have you been in this business?
Our business is now 20 months old. Our medium-to-long term plan is to expand the business to industrial conversion of plastic waste to agricultural materials like plastic baskets for farmers. We also want to establish other to recycling centers – one in Azari, Bauchi State and the other in Zaria, Kaduna State.
We hope within the next 10 years to become one of the best waste management companies in the world.
How lucrative would you say the recycling business is?
The recycling business is very lucrative because the return on investment (ROI) is about 65 per cent. We were able to generate N2.5 million in the first year we started the business.
Now, even if I am offered a job that can fetch me N500,000 per month, I won’t accept it because I already have a stable business. Of course, I can’t leave this business for any white collar job.
How do you think the Etisalat training would impact on your business?
I am very happy participating in the Etisalat 2014 entrepreneurial training. I have gained a lot because I didn’t have this kind of training in school. Now, I have been equipped with the knowledge that can help our business grow.
In the course of the training, I have met with people who are in the same kind of business both in Lagos and beyond and we are looking at the possibility of partnering together. I have also been made to know other tools peculiar to the business which I didn’t know prior to this time.
What have been your challenges in the business?
The main challenge has been funds. But with the N2 million Etisalat gave me, we have some capital to ginger the business. I intend buying a recycling machinery that can be used continuously for two to three years. We will source raw materials locally within communities around us.
What is your advice to Nigerian youths, especially the undergraduates, on entrepreneurship?
My advice to fellow Nigerian youths is that they should start doing something meaningful on enterprise while in the university. For example, we developed our own idea while we were in the university. Students shouldn’t wait until they graduate before they can start doing something productive.
After finishing their degree programmes, they can start expanding their business ideas. There are lots of opportunities in the country and they should look into them and find where their ideas fit in to be self-employed, rather than forever look for jobs that aren’t just available.
About the Etisalat Easy Business Millionaire Hunt
“We at Etisalat believe that by helping to empower SMEs, the generation of more job opportunities can easily be achieved. It is important to us at Etisalat that we do a good job. But more than that, we aspire to see our customers also do a good job while using our services. We aim to help these companies grow just as we have grown over the last five years,” said Mr. Matthew Willsher, the acting Chief Executive Officer, Etisalat Nigeria.
In this year’s Etisalat Easy Business Millionaire Hunt, ten (10) entrepreneurs were adjudged to have exceptional business ideas with each winning N2m to help them actualise their plans as well as six months’ mentorship programme at the Enterprise Development Centre of Pan-Atlantic University to guide them.
The winners were: Abdulazeez Ibrahim, Oluwayomi Ojo, Idongesit Umoh, Muhammad Salisu Abdullahi, Nwachinemere Emeka, Eberenna Nwanjoku, Opeyemi Ajayi, Bosede Olanihun, Joseph Eze and Adesuwa Ojumola.
What do you make out of this young 22 year old guy?
